Eleynd wasn’t having a good day… what with the Evil Overlord Depracious looming over her already unstable and war torn city.
So Eleynd decided to do something about it after some prodding from Juju of Glastonbury.  As she entered the town, all was quiet, as she approached the jewelers shop she found the door to be locked, odd she thought, many of the townspeople were either selling rings of binding or buying them.  Instability and an unsure future can do that, Eleynd though to herself.
It was then that Eleynd noticed a playing board of some kind sitting atop a barrel in the alleyway.  It was of wooden construction, though made rather finely.  Probably elven by the look of it.  It was then that she had an idea.
A few minutes later Eleynd approached Overlord Depracious’s keep and knocked upon the door.  Upon being greeted by a surly looking hobgoblin, Eleynd announced she would see the lord of the keep to discuss the towns problems.  The hobgoblin seemed confused, as many hobgoblins do when presented with a delimma.  The hobgoblin motioned for her to follow, and so she did.
She was shortly entering the chamber of the Evil Overlord.  She squared her shoulders and walked toward the seemingly amused lord.
For the right of governess of the lands I call home, and trust me, ye be needing one.  I hereby challenge you to a game of Illum’s Fate.
Depracious smiled and simply nodded to his attendants and a table was sat between himself and the young half elf maiden.

The two forces for this chess set arrangement were assembled with D&D miniature products from varying sets.  Only the red dragon and the sorceress at his side were modified in any way from the original production appearance.
The force of the peonistic Generally useless Goblin’s, the Burly Ogre’s, Armored Hobgoblin, and the Roguish Catfolk are commanded by the Demon Red Dragon and his companion a Preiestess of Lolth.
The army of the pawn like Dire Weasels, hard headed Rock Elementals, Slippery Serpents, Sluggish Slimes are given their orders by a Battle Hardened Bronze Drake and his concubine a Sorcoress of Corynth.
